Chronology of the first year of the ANTARES research project

April 7, 2026

The IV. meeting of project team was held. 

The main topic of the meeting was the preparation of the first semi-annual report, which must be submitted to the University by April 15, 2026.
During the meeting, a draft version of the narrative report was discussed, with the participants systematically going through all the points defined in the project work plan. Based on the discussion, it was agreed that a version of the document would be delivered to all project team members via email, in order to enable additional analysis, comments and corrections before the final submission.
In addition, the meeting also included planning activities for the upcoming project period, with an emphasis on timely fulfillment of commitments and further coordination of research activities.

February 10, 2026

The III. meeting of project team was held. 

The meeting was led by the principal investigator, PhD Ladislav Vrsalović, Full Prof. He introduced the team members to the conclusions of the workshop on institutional research projects held by the Office for Projects of the University of Split.
During the meeting, two conceptual solutions for the project logo were presented, after which the official ANTARES project logo was selected by voting. It was also agreed to start developing the project website, create a promotional banner in English, and prepare other promotional materials for the project.
The meeting took place in a constructive working atmosphere, with the next steps in the implementation of project activities clearly defined.


February 4, 2026

ANTARES Research ream member, full prof. Senka Gudić, is one of the laureate of the University of Split Science Award for 2025 in the field of technical sciences.

January 12, 2026

The II. meeting of project team members was held.

The meeting was led by the project manager, Full Prof. Ladislav Vrsalović , who introduced the team members to the conclusions of the workshop on institutional research projects held by the University of Split Project Office.
During the meeting, two conceptual designs for the project logo were presented, after which the official ANTARES project logo was selected by vote. It was also agreed to start developing the project website, create a promotional banner in English, and prepare other promotional materials for the project.
The meeting took place in a constructive working atmosphere, with clearly defined next steps in the implementation of project activities.

December 11-12, 2025.

PhD Ivona Nuić, Assoc. Prof. held invited lecture entitled: ECO-FRIENDLY MATERIALS FOR SUSTAINABLE WATER TREATMENT: UTILIZATION OF LOCAL FOOD PROCESSING BY-PRODUCTS AND NATURAL ZEOLITES on the 5th Difenew International Student Conference in Novi Sad, Serbia.

Additionally, on the conference PhD Ivona Nuić, Assoc. Prof. and PhD Marin Ugrina, Assoc. Prof. participated with 2 scientific wo: 

December 4, 2025

The first meeting of the project team members was held.

A working meeting of the institutional research project "Advanced technologies for wastewater treatment and corrosion resistance of materials in aggressive media (ANTARES)" was held in lecture room F-405.
The ANTARES project (IP-UNIST-28) is funded by the Recovery and Resilience Facility – NextGenerationEU and is being implemented from 1 October 2025 to 30 September 2029.
The meeting defined the first steps of project implementation and organization of research activities. KTF continues to strengthen research excellence in the field of environmental protection and materials protection.

November 27, 2025.

Mihaela Brnadić, student of graduate study Chemical Technology, orientation Environmental Protection, Faculty of Chemistry and Technology in Split, defended master thesis entitled: Impact of magnets on electrocoagulation of graywater: comparison of Fe and Al electrodes with and without zeolites (mentor PhD Nediljka Vukojević Medvidović, Full Prof.)
